This system covers all of the homeowner’s electrical usage, with some extra production for future electrification plans. This home was already all set on efficiency upgrades, with a well insulated, properly ventilated attic and efficient 2 pane windows and sliding glass doors. EV charging was installed for multiple future vehicles.

The solar, battery, and smart home management allows the homeowner to continue life as usual without even knowing the grid has dropped. The combination of the large battery storage and smart home management allows full functionality of the home in case of an outage, including air conditioning and pool equipment. In case of a prolonged multi-day outage, the smart home management system allows the homeowner to stay informed of current battery state of charge and curtails loads down to the most essential in case of overconsumption.
